Hi, all. I've got two questions, both relating to
carburators.
1. Is it possible to put the slides in backwards in a
VHB29? I was looking at my manual and noticed that the
longer flat side is facing the air cleaner, not the
port. So I checked my parts manual, and that shows it
the other way. I have mine with the large side facing
the port.
2. Is it possible that a carb can be so good' that it
will idle even when the idle adjusting screw is backed
all the way out? I was adjusting my carbs (after
timing both cylinders and adjusting the idle mixtures
on both carbs), and was trying to set them so that
each cylinder will stop after 4 or 5 fires when the
other is unplugged (as per the manual and Guzziology).
I can't get the right cylinder to stall no matter what
I do. It does not seem to be hanging on the cable. I
have flip chokes - no problems there either.
