Should be the same as for a T.

The ATF is just for lube, not damping.

Sounds like the dampers are overly stiff and need some break-in miles,
that the wheel is out of round, or that something is binding in the fork
assembly.

First, check the wheel and tire.

Then, I would pull off the instrument cluster, unscrew the caps at the
top of the fork that hold the dampers, and try to cycle the wheel and
forks up and down by hand to see if something is binding. If it is, find
the problem and rectify it. If not, pull the dampers and cycle them by
hand to see if one is noticeably stiffer than the other or whether one
fails to damp over part of its stroke. Then make sure they are seated
properly in the slides before tightening everything up.

That's all I can think of right now.

Does anyone know the correct type of fluid and quantify that goes in the
forks of a disc brake eldo ? I know the 850 T calls for 50cc of dextron
ATF. I tired this, thinking they were the same basic forks, but the
front
end bounces up and down and 30 to 60 mph like I am going over speed
bumps.
I just bought this front end and installed new dampners, so I do not
know
how it rode before. I have just put on a new tire and had it balanced,
so I
do not believe that is the problem. Just to rule that out I am going to
swap it out with the wheel on my T bike and see what happens. Any
ideas ?
