Whilst riding around the twisties in southern WVa last weekend, I got
to try out countersteering my Eldo on roads other than major
thoroughfares and SuperSlabs. Some the turns were quite tight with
posted speed limits of 45, 35, 25, 15 mph. Normally I try to keep my
head level in the turn and my body inline with the bike's centerline.
But I did find that if I pivoted a waist things worked better. I.E. I
would pivot my upper body to the left in a right hand turn. It seemed
with this approach that I could turn sharper in the corner. I'm
wondering if the fact that I have police handlebars make this technique
work since I can apply more leverage to the bars when opposite leaning.

But it just doesn't seem right. My books on MC riding, say to use this
'opposite lean' technique for slow, tight turns, say in a parking lot.
Does the fact that the Eldo has a low center of gravity make this work?
Or am I doing it all wrong??
