Make sure you have lift from the cam . If cam has good lift check for
bent pushrod. I doubt the exhaust seat has moved from the fact you said
you have good valve seal. It IS POSSIBLE but not likely. The last of the
singles were plagued with problems and a bent pushrod or wiped cam are
not unheard of.

My 1972 Nuovo Falcone Military, which I've had running great for 2 months, crapped out on the way to work (leisurely pace!) Saturday. Sudden loss of power, backfiring through Carb. Won't start, backfire through carb every time. Checked points and timing, no change. Checked valve gear--1/4" clearance(!) at exhaust tappet without any change in adjuster. Compressed air through spark plug hole yields no leak at exhaust or intake. Pulled header and looked in exhaust port--valve appears closed and believe I can see the seat(??) which looks undisturbed, but am suspicious that the seat has migrated into the combustion chamber. Any way to verify this without a teardown? What next?? HELP!!!
