Chris,
The steering head bearing cups are pressed in till they stop against the
lip. You will know when its all the way in. As for the distance, make sure
when it's tightened up there is no up down or side to side play. I like to
do mine where if you let the handlebars go, they hesitate for a second
before they fall to the side.

Subject: Questions of Great Bearing
Slowly but surely - the bike she is coming together. I have a couple of bearing related questions. First, can anyone tell me |
size carrier bearing I need to put in the swing arm and where to get it |
the big old snapring that holds it in)? Second, what is the proper |
between steering head bearings on the stem? Third, should the steering |
bearing races sit flush with the top (or bottom) of the steering head |
Bases on a lip that I feel just past the race, I think it should be |
in further. Thanks fellas, Chris _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device:http://mobile.msn.com |
