Except for the cylinder base gasket, I just use a film of oil on
everything (head gaskets excepted)

I either use a little grease to hold the gasket down or a VERY LITTLE
amount of Indian head gasket sealer.

Subject: Gasket Gue
In a few days I will be replacing my front engine seal due to a small leak, and have a general question concerning the use of gasket sealer on the timing cover gasket. Should I use something like Permatex on this gasket? I asked one mechanic, and he recommended just |
using a little motor oil, but I wanted to get the general consensus from the list. Thanks, Brian '74 Eldo '78 T-3 '76 T-3 basket |
