blue seal is universal & can go either end. brown seal is probably made from viton. all viton seals i've seen for sale in uk for guzzi's are directional (rotation) & you need to fit 2 different part no's for input & output as shafts spin in opposite directions.
trouble is i can't remember if direction of rotation is marked on seal. i suppose it must be. suggest you buy other viton seal anyhow as they are supposed to last longer.
there's one available (standard issue now) for the crank rear seal too.

Ok, I have a single lip (blue) and a dual lip (brown) seal both the same size. My question is, which one goes where? Does the dual lip go on the clutch gear side or the output side for the u-joint? Forgot to mark it down when I stripped the box.
