I learned that a friend of mine was killed last night as
he rode home from work on his HD. Y'all most likely have
never heard of Carroll Setzer, since he wasn't a member of
this list, but he was the first person I met after I got
my Eldo that rode a Guzzi too. He loaned me the first
copy of Guzziology and the original owners manual i ever
saw. He had a fully dressed 1974 LAPD Eldo that he sold
to get the HD he was riding last night. He also has had
several other Eldos and Ambos thru the years. I don't
know the details, but apparently he T-boned a Chevy Blazer
at an intersection...don't know if he ran a light or if
the other driver did. Carroll had ridden all his life and
I would think he wouldn't make stupid mistakes, but who
knows. Anyway, I'll miss Carroll a lot. Even though we
weren't real close, I hate losing a member of my community
to a bike wreck.
On a positive note, Carroll's death is the first
motorcycle fatality this summer. Pray that no more go
down.
