That is correct, They are just running lights. One wire to the metal strip
inside the bag for ground and one wire to the taillight wire for power and a
connector so the bags can be removed for cleaning and service. Make sure
that the female end of the connector is toward the bike so there is no
chance of a short when the bags are off.

Loopsters: From what I can tell, the lights on the Wixom saddlebags are just running lights (i.e., not brake lights). Is that right? There are no wires for these lights I can find: they were not connected when I got the bike. (They were in pretty sad shape). Repairing these bags should allow me to achieve the much sought after Dreaded Previous Owner eXtraordinaire (DPOX) status. I'm working up a "custom" latching system.
