False? who knows.. the notched sleeves might have been
a fix to narrow it to flow air faster. They definitly
were fitted to the original SS1 carbs. After much
fiddling about trying to make vhb 29 carbs work
(needed different manifolds specific to vhb...runs a
different angle off the head) without the sleeves (i
thought they were for just the ss1's) I tried the
sleeves back in. Worked beautifully...first start
purred like a kitten. the sleeve fits between the two
carb gaskets. Now, I don't know how this all relates
to a 750...
