Yup, New springs seemed to help my Ambo and I do leave it a tad retarded.
Still pings when I have a strong headwind and someone on the back while
going uphill, ect.. but it's ALOT better.
I guess you could've picked up some bummer gas also.
The carbon buildup is a scary thought, what do your plugs look like? Might
offer a clue. I would definatly try the springs before tearing the heads
off.

Over the last several weeks I've noticed that my Eldo is pinging when I
roll on some throttle.I don't think my driving habits hsve chsnged sny.
I put in new points and checked the timing and advance with a strobe.
All seems fine. I'm using the same high octane gas as usual. Could the
timing advance springs need changing? Could this be carbon build
