Ah..
I talked to micha. It seems that because the goose doesn't use a trust
bearing (a la BMW) to regulate the end play on the crank, this can
happen. Annoying, a quirk. Spend less time with the clutch held in.
seems to be the word.

I was talking to Micha over at Moto Intn'l the other day
and he was mentioning a problem where the nut on the timing side of the
crank was loose, allowing the crank to shift around when the clutch
pulled, which caused the pistons to rub aganst the bores and causing
this as well.
