Hi Andy and all,
Just thought I'd throw that idea out there for discussion. My old '69 hasn't had bottoming (or topping) problems using the standard amount of 30w fork oil, but I thought this might help with those that do. I'm going to try the preload spacers on Ambo #2 and see what the difference is. Cheers,

Charlie- i just cut off a piece of 1 1/2 o.d. pvc [1 1/2 long, i think], dropped them down the tubes under the springs [pre-loaders, if you will], and my forks have never, ever, bottomed out. i use the reccommended ammount of oil, 40 wt. fork oil- i think that's what i found in the rafters. ;>) still the origional springs, too! |
