Elisabeth,
Yeah, I just bit the bullet and bought a Scorpio alarm, Pricey but for a
piece of mind, worth it. I had to justify it by just telling myself it
was anouther pricy Guzzi part and I don't spend alot of $$ on myself,
except for bikes and the house. It hasn't arrived yet but supposedly the
computer is smaller than a match book, this will monitor a proximtiy
alert, tilt(gravity sensor they call it, no mercury), paging system,
ect. also has a back up battery it will run off if someone does find
someway to cut the bike battery. I thinkin' most of it will live under
the tank, in the frame.

Hi Kevin, I looked into alarms for my Eldorado and decided against it, because installing the model I had access to would involve drilling a hole through one of my tool boxes. I got a battery operated alarm used for tool boxes on construction sites. Very loud, the size of a pack of cigarettes. It has a flat "key" that when removed, arms the device. If the bike is moved, the alarm goes off. Very simple, and so far pretty reliable. Plus a u-lock, plus a chain around a cement column in my parking garage.....
