Ahh yes, But, one must be wary when using Lucas. The reflectors have an unexplained tendency to work intermittently, occassionally absorbing all available light instead of reflecting it.
My favorite Lucas part is the infamous 3-way light switch. Three modes are Dim, Flicker, and Off. (from a bumber sticker seen at Mid-Ohio SCCA weekend many years ago).
I always heard that Brits like warm beer because Lucas also made refrigerators.
But this is all in good fun. These remarks go back to my days of working on an MG Midget. Actually never had a problem with any Lucas stuff, just had to keep the contacts clean.

They are the dame as used on Britbikes of that era. Someone has been
hawking some repros on E bay. Not real good stuff not like the original
Lucas. Try British Cycle Supply in Chicago ,they had some originals at
the local swap. There are others that may work OK ,but the Real Lucas
look great on the Ambo.

Can some one make a suggestion for a good replacement of the fender reflectors on the Ambo. Mine came with the holes but no reflectors to be seen anywhere. Does Napa or some other source like a marine store offer a suitable replacement? Thanks Tom B |
