2 12 volt batteries in parallel = 12 volts and double the cranking amps.
2 6 volt batteries in series = 12 volts and no more cranking amps than one
battery. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...its been a while since
High School electronics class.

My Eldo SP has the 5-speed with a later rear cover. Since my speedo
cable now runs straight down through the stock battery location I have
been considering my options. The wisdom of the list suggests a lawn
tractor battery mounted sideways. I gave this a trial fitting and it
does work but it upsets my finely tuned sense of symmetry.

WHAT IF...

You put in two smaller batteries side by side leaving a space in between
for the cable?

Would they have to be 12 or 6 volts each?
Serial or parallel connection?

Itty bitty M/C batteries are cheap at Wally World so I thought I might
experiment if it is technically feasible. After all, they did it on the
Daytona. Trickle down engineeering for Loopframes?
