You want a thick grease. So it does not sling off under heat and
centrifical force. I use a heavy lithium grease. Honda makes a great
spline lube. Takes years to go through a tube.

There is a bit of a thread on the Guzzi list on greasing clutch
splines
to keep the moving freely. Since I'm just about to reassemble mine, is
there a specific grease to use or is synthetic chassis grease good
enough? I've also got some MolyKote but that seems a bit thick for this
application.
