Hello Gentlefolk,
John sent the photos (of the fairing mount) he took to me this morning.
I've posted them on
http://www.avalon.net/~jrt/guzzi.html
I would have never thought of the setup John used. I'm really happy it
sent the pictures in. There's a couple other pictures, mainly for
placeholding, but when I get time, I'll make a coherent website. For
now its just a couple of pictures.
But it got me thinking- in this group, someone posts a picture, or wants
to, on a fairly regular basis. Sometimes it goes onto Dave's site, or
maybe EldoMike's or sometimes onto someone else's- there's no real
organization or pattern to it. Kind of like most of us, huh?
So I propose that we nominate a website that can archive photos from the
group. It need not have any real thread except that all the photos
would be loopframe in subject or relating to a discussion on this list.
Two websites come to my mind offhand- Dave Otis' site, www.loopframe.com
and the 'official' MGNOC site by Luap McKeever, www.wildguzzi.com.
Perhaps a page with pictures or thumbnails/links, and a date or subject
heading to identify the pic.
Whoever submits a photo for the list could then just send a note,
instead of posting a binary (good nettiquette), and submit the
referenced picture and thumbnail to the curator. I would also propose
that the submittor (is that a word?) should make the thumbnail, to
reduce the work of the curator. Next thing you know, we'll have a FAQ.
I'm not trying to limit this or put work on anyone- it's just a
suggestion. Whoever wants to step up to the plate is fine with me. I
don't have time to properly keep up with it, so I respectfully submit
that someone else do it.
And by the way, if other's send pictures to me, I'll still post them.
I don't mind doing it; I just think it might be better to have a
'central' location in the long run. It's that whole anal-rententive,
type A personality that I've got going on.
Anyhow, thanks for sending in the pictures, John!
Dam* Guzzi's are cool!
Cheers,
Jason
