Hey everyone,
I was on the MGCL list for quite a while, but left after September 11 in a
blur of jingoistic chect thumping. Hopefully this list will stay more
technically oriented?
Anyway, I am attempting to resurrect a 1973 Eldo that I got in crates a
couple years back. It was a 12,000-mile bike that sat too long, chrome
peeled, and then was disassembled. The PO did manage to save everything,
except the reflectors, and I scrounged a set of them.
I started working on the forks, to try and separate the lower sliders to
have them painted or powder coated. I managaed to remove the chrome seal
holder, but how do I remove the C-ring that hold the bushings in place in
the slider? The tubes look perfect, but there is some small amount of play
between the tubes and the bushings. Are these available new?
TIA
