Well, You guys might as well quit looking for the perfect girl 'cause I
got her. Why? Well, to my surprise she bought my first motorcycle back
for me. All of us want that very first bike we ever owned back. Most
people end up with the same yr, make, model, not THE bike.I'm the proud
owner(again) of my 1973 Suzuki GT750 aka Waterbuffalo.
I've been wanting to buy this thing back after selling it to a pal for
years, and there she was sitting in my mothers garage on Xmas Eve(the
bike, not the girl).
It still needs the carbs, battery, and ALOT of cleaning. This thing was
the punk rock M/C of Detroit. Blk tank with a airbrushed skull w/a
purple mohawk. Studded sidcovers, and loud as hell and smoked more than
a sailor on leave.
One of the last times it ran, it wouldn't stop. This was thing revving
at 9-10,000 rpms filling the neiborhood full of smoke. I thought it
would blow up for sure. When I turned the key to off, her engine didn't
follow suit. Kill switch, nada, still running at 10,000rpms. I pull the
three spark plug wires, SHE WAS STILL RUNNING! Loudest thing I ever
heard. Finally I clampped off the fuel line. Only after she burned all
the gas out of the bowls is when she got sleepy.
I bearly knew anything about motorcycles then. esp. this thing. Still in
the dark about this thing now. Oil Injection? A 3 cyl. 2 stroke
watercooled engine? What the hell were they thinkin'?
I know it's not Guzzi material but if any of you have info on these
things PLEASE let me know, esp. on setting up the oil injector.
See Ya,
Kev
