Yes, but you must insure that you get the new hole perfectly square to the
casing or the gasket will leak. Use a lathe to make some small blocks or
tubes to fit your drill bit and your new oversize tap. Hold the tube square
to the transmission while you feel the drill bit and the tap into the center.
