I agree with the looks of the engine. I was going to buy a SP1000 in rough
shape and use that motor, but I got a great deal on a wrecked California
and could not pass it up. I did put the polished round valve covers on the
engine to dress it up. I almost was thinking about grinding the edges off
the jugs but thought that would be getting carried away.

I guess I don't get it....don't get me wrong, there's nothing I like better
than a modified loopframe....I just don't think the square motor looks
close
to as good as a round head motor....why not just do a 1000 Eldo/T/T3 motor
and keep those classic good looks?

Thanks for the info Karl. Visited you site and the swap looks awesome.
I'm just finishing up my '70 Ambo. I have a '73 Eldo with the engine
out. Now all I have to do is find a square head engine.
I also have a Calli 2 but that is my daily ride. Unless I can find an
1100 and swap down the line. 1100 in calli 2, Calli 2 engine in Eldo,
Eldo Engine in Ambo, Ambo engine on e-bay. Man can I dream or what.!

different RPM range took some getting used. You do not even hit 5th

you are at 70 mph. I love it !

I bought one of his pulley adapters and found a wrecked square
barrel
California and dropped the motor in my Eldo. I love it ! It

fly's

down
the road and has gobs of power. I also installed a set of Koni
shocks on
the back so she rides nice. I want to go with a different tire on
the front
to lighten up the steering. The only draw back is the brakes. I

to reline the front shoes with the green liners the road racers

use.

Anyway the engine swap was not to hard just trying to find a

square
