It's true and obvious that HD and Guzzi manfacturers
hence the dealers, too, don't go out of their way to
provide parts and service for older bikes. Pre evo HD
owners pretty much have to relay on other sources like
we do. It would appear that a good move for
Guzzi/Aprilia would be to remanufacture the Eldo
exactly as it was. Dealers can't sell just six new
model bikes? What's up with that? Of course
Guzzi/Aprilia is intent on sticking to their guns and
(perhaps) dying on the vine. Retro is still hot. Best
to move on it right now Guzzi. (Some people might get
killed with those mechanical brakes!)

Scot has moved to a new location in Oldsmar Fla, just outside Tampa. The airport forced him out of his old place, and yes it was a mess. His new location is nice with a large showroom. He is a dealer for go-ped, which are selling like crazy (700 bucks for a skateboard & chainsaw motor) and a line of 6 wheeled ATV's. He never put in any effort in his old place because he new the bulldozers were coming. I kind of get the feeling that MGNA really does not want to have anything to do with the old models. I have a friend with a early 70's HD and he said that HD has a similar attitude. The new Guzzi's are nice but they do not do anything for me, except for the new LeMans. I will just keep my loopframes, they will do everything a new Guzzi will do, just a little slower. Karl, I met Scott of Ironhorse a few years back. I'm not sure if they cleaned up their shop or not but it was pretty rough when I was there. He may not have fit the "image" of a dealer that MGNA wanted. Also.....MGNA wants new dealers to take a minimun of 6 bikes plus spares. A pretty hefty load to carry...especially when they don't offer a buy back option. The poor dealer in Montreal is still stuck with 2000 models on his floor. Those bikes are not going to sell above his cost and I doubt the dealer will be ordering any new bikes or carrying the line next year. I have to believe that dealers drop a product line because of poor sales. I'm not sure of the sales numbers in the Atlanta area or across the US but I know that there aren't too many Guzzis being sold. Any wonder why outfits like Zen have dropped the Guzzi line and are now focusing on HD's. I agree with you Karl....the more dealers out there the better.
