Tom,
I think that what you might be seeing is coming from the transmission
vent plug. It ius on the left side just behind and above the cylinder.
Ive found that on mine the transmission oil overflows from there. I've
gottn in the habit of keeping a clean paper towel over the hole to catch
the overflow so it doesn't get on the case. I change it every few days.

I just found this site(oh boy). This spring I bought my second loopframe . My first was a new '70 Ambassador then a 20+ year layoff. Filling my needs with 2or3 hot rods a chopped '51 Merc. some hopup VWs,MGs and a Corvair. After the wife it was time for a bike. So I started looking for a loopframe. I found a 75 850T well it was a Guzzi so I bought it, rode it for 3years then had transmission problems. This spring I was still looking for a loopframe. I got home form work and on my answering mmachine was a messagefrom a diehard Harley friend. He says I have a '74 Guzzi in my back yard are you interested. I bought it the next day for $1200.It runs better and stronger then my 'T'. The only thing I HAD to do aside from tires was rebuild the generator then replace te regulator. Then some personal touches. But 2 weeks ago on the way back from Grand Rapids Guzziin MI. to South Bend IN. I ran out of gas at about 75mph. which is know big deal in its self But my reserve is slow and will not keep up with the throttle so I ran down the road at 1/2 throttle for aabout a 1/8mi. to a rest stop and as I was putting gas in I noticed oil down the left side from behind the cylinder. It has never done this befor or sense. The oil was up were it sould be on the stick when I ran out, and when I got home it was not down any. Tom 74 Eldo. 75 850T |
