Tim,
My 73< Police model has a Tomaselli throttle. The cables point down.
the throttle cables also have metalic cable guides close to the throttle
housing that direct the cables toward the front of the fuel tank. My
throttle is stiff and snaps back quickly. I've been thinking about
reducing the esprings to help. On the open road I usually set the cruise
screw(on the throttle)so I don't have to use constant
pressure on the throttle.

If it is like the tomaselli on my t-3 (probably is) then the cable ports point down. Guzzis are known for having heavy springs in the carbs.
