well, my old flame is still a bmw. She's got about 70,000 miles on the frame
up rebuild and going strong. She's a standard, very dependable no-nonsense
workman-like bike. I guess I'm saying she doesn't have soul. Not in bad way
like a UJM, but not oozing gobs of character (or other stuff). hah watch her
get back at me during the commute tomorrow morning :).
I guess that is the reason I started fooling with the old harleys. Looking
for
something perhaps not as dependable but with soul. I found myself at odds
with
the local harley boutique set. The "dealer" just dealt in aftermarket chrome
doo-dads.
I saw my first guzzi and *man* that bike just called out to me. It's got gobs
of character (and rust). My local guzzi dealer is Moto International. Now
thats
a dealership. I picked up a copy of Guzziology and was blown away. Theres
this
whole body of lore that comes with the marque. It's got history.
I guess I'm not explaining it too well, but it's too hard to think straight
with
guzzi on the brain.

Jeff, I'm sure others more proficient at mechanicals will respond knowledgeably to your questions but I have a question for you, when you get the time; what makes you intrigued by Guzzis as opposed to American iron or BMWs? Thanks, Bob Hawkes 1969 Ambassador 1966 Honda CB160 |
