Don't know if the axle needs to be changed, can't remember from when I did
mine. Think it does though.
I do know I had lug welded on fork slider for second back plate & even
though it was done by a welder I'd rate as "artist" the tube was slightly
distorted & hindered travel of stanchion. Loads of fettling!
Having ridden several Loops with the 4 leading shoe & 2 leading shoe, I
found that best braking in all cases was with 2L. Don't know why, all seemed
adjusted OK.
My own 4LS does nothing for a while after application then attempts to lock
the wheel when you don't expect it!! Total bastard in the wet.
Give me discs any day.
