Vince,
I obtained a threaded/hose barb fitting from a friend of mine, tapped
the plug, and screwed in the fitting. I used a small (2oz) model
airplane tank at the top end (up in the frame channel) to act as an
expansion tank. A piece of 1/8 tygon tubing connects the two. So far no
leakage, at least not from there.

I hope all the expert loopers out there will be able to give me some advice. My 73 Eldo runs weel, but since I bought it 5 years ago it always squirts some tranny oil out of the vent plug on the top of the transmission case. I have taken it apart on a few occasions and cleaned it out. The little piston in there and the spring seem to be ok and not be stuck or binding. I keep the oil level to the side plug and am careful not to over fill. I have gotten into the habit of keeping a small rag over the vent plug to keep the oil from running down the case. Any ideas how I can stop this vent leak? Thanks guys, Vince in NY BTW - It ran like a charm out to Orient Point last weekend and going the other way I saw another looper. Was it anyone on this list??? |
