I bet the bearings are shot.
I was riding my T-3 one day and on the viaduct (75mph) I noticed that the
steering felt loose. I backed down and took surface streets home. Got home
to find that one of the two bearings had grenaded. the front wheel now had
about 3" of slop at the tread.
