You do know that there are left and right header pipes right? I mean one is
longer than the other on purpose.

I am not sure what mufflers I have. Ian thinks MACs from a pic I sent him. There are no crossovers . In any case I replaced one head pipe ( left ) with a used one from a fellow looper. I found that the pipe was about 1 1/2 inch too long meaning it positioned the muffler too far behind the mounting bracket by 1 1/2 inch. I just didn't want to cut the pipe so I made a new bracket that fit between the muffler and the original bracket. Used a piece of card board as a template, then made the real bracket from 1/4 thick aluminum. I also wiped out a drill on what must be stainless Steel. sorry cant help you there. Took some effort but was worth it as they look great,no cobbled brackets. Oh yeah they sound great, probably a little louder than the rusted out LaFranconis that were on it.....IF you go this route remember to measure twice and cut once. Dont't know about drilling stainless ,mebbe better drillbit<g> Rich Marchand 1980 BMW R100RT 1974 Moto Guzzi Eldorado MGNOC 17418 ----- Original Message ----- From: David Washburn <dwash-@c4.com> To: <Loopfram-@topica.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 04, 2001 3:08 PM Subject: Muffler wierdness
