Thanks for the query concerning the sidecovers (I had asked him about
it because I was trying to see if there would be any interest in the
early V750 Ambassador sidecover decals I made up for my restoration).
From what I've been able to piece together, most of the '69's had the
non louvered sidecovers, although as someone stated they could have just
used them up before switching to the newer style. I'm in the
process of restoring a '28 Indian, the factory motto at the time was 'No
model years, just constant improvement". Translated it means they make
running changes throughout the model year to use up parts on hand.
Tim Crump---hello! Glad to see Nellie Belle #13283 has the old style
covers. I sold you your tank decals some time back, hope they worked out
well for you. My '69 is # 13325, has the old covers. It would be
interesting to find the highest number with the old sidecovers, but
probably wouldn't be definitive since they're interchangeable.
