Check or replace the voltage regulator first. Then maybe replace the
brushes and clean the stator. If these don't work, check ALL wiring
(especially the end connectors) in between the VR and Gen. If this doesn't
work, then have the generator rebuilt or replaced.
I've never heard of polarizing a generator. What exactly does this do?
I figure it disrupts the magnetic field in some way, but how does it help?
Not being critical, just curious.
