Hey Dudes,

The clunk is what it's all about!! Felt right at home getting on this
Guzzi after having owned 2 classic BMW boxers - same clunk, and same
flywheel torque reaction that pulls the bike to the right when revving
the engine. To me, that loud clunk means it's solid, and you're
reassured it's in gear! True classic-ness at it's best!

 Hey All,

The two things Guzzis are famous for (and I am sure there are more) is
the
clunky tranny and the neutral indicator light telling you that the bike
is
in neutral when it isn't.

Funny but I laugh when people tell me that you can't trust the new bikes
neutral indicator. Makes me think back to the late 60's early 70's when
new
owner's of Loopframes were saying the exact same thing.

By the way.....they say that the new Jackal Stone (due out in 2002) has
a
new tranny...suppose to be smoother.

Regards....Ian

p.s. if you shift at a lower rpm the clunk is reduced to near zero.

I personnally prefere the 4-speeds, I love the whine of an Ambo at
highway
speed, I also prefere gear cam drive versus chain, those sounds combine
to
be music to my ears. Clunky? My EV is clunky, I'm just a cruiser, they
work
fine for me, and the clunk is over as soon as your in the next gear.
