I bought my 73 Eldo as a low mileage massive wreck in 78. I couldn't afford
a big bike and decided this way I could do it cheaper. WRONG! So many mods.
I spent twice what I could have for a nice used one. Got it at 25K and
passed it along at 110000K. What a wonderful long distance cruiser. But, my
wife was riding and my boys were coming up. Too big, too archaic for learner
riders. I needed something more modern and universal for all the family to
ride. I also became heavily involved with an Italian vintage Guzzi singles
club. Once I acquired my 46 SuperAlce, the 'vintage' appeal of an Eldorado
faded VERY fast. So, although I loved it for twenty years, the Eldo is now
gone. Thus 'loopless'. My fleet now is:
98 EV red (mine)
98 EV orange (hers)
86 SPII for astute visitors and days when I feel like a frisky run
84 V65C for visitors and maybe going for sale soon
81 V50 Monza collecting dust and needing cosmetic restoration
46 SuperAlce
Oh, and since I only live 3 miles from work at 35mph posted max, I normally
ride a Honda 80 Elite scooter. Now, if I could just get my hands on a
Galletto!!!!!
