Actually it wasn't that the vent was plugged, because it had an
after-market gas cap that had NO vent. Gotta wonder if some of the other
recent reports of mysterious engine failure on the list aren't from the
same (or similar) problems. BTW, the bike ran great once he removed the
cap and let some more air in.
