Last year I restored a BMW R90S, and installed a set of Epco
stainless mufflers which I got through Rocky Point Cycle. The quality of
these is excellent, in fact too high quality for a true restoration, as
Epco grinds off the weld beads and polishes them so all seams are
unnoticable (stock BMW mufflers have the beads).
Epco also makes Ambo/Eldo mufflers in the "torpedo" style, which
sell for $449 (about $100 more than their BMW mufflers, probably because
the volume is lower). A while back I sent them an E-mail asking if they
could build some 'slashback' style mufflers, and never got a reply. I am
wondering if some others might also be interested in having them build
the 'slashback' mufflers. I am thinking that if enough people express an
interest in this, then they might be encouraged to build them,
especially if we could interest a dealer (Mark, or Rick?) in retailing
them.
So how 'bout it? Please reply if you might be interested.
Thanks,
Brian
