Last month when I dropped off a 73 Eldo in fair condition
at my local independent shop to be checked over. While reading
some custom parts books, I came across some LED replacements
for my 97 BigDog bagger. It has a standard aftermarket HD type
tail light and the LED fit in the original tail light assembly.
All you had to do is remove the bulb and socket, run the 2 wires
thru the rear rubber cover and hard wire it to original wires leading
to bulb contacts.....easy enough. I did all that, and before installing
the fender I tested it. The light works, but my signal lights don't
work, and when I press the turn signal button.....the brake light
flashes!! Now, there are only 2 wires coming from the brake/tail
light assembly!! They come directly from the bulb socket. How in
the hell can I get my brake light flashing when I hit my
turn signal button?! I did not TOUCH any other wires.
I swiched the wires and no change. I tried it without connecting
the new light and signals still didn't work.
I admit that I am not a genius when it comes to wrenching, but
come on....hard wiring a new tail light is not rocket science.
Even I thought I could do this. Any help would be appreciated....
