The original mixture is 2.5 gallons. I think I will need to do another PART A treatment to completely remove the surface rust. If so, does anyone know how I might be able to mix up something to use instead of purchasing (and waiting for the mail) another bottle of the "etcher". Is this muratic acid, if so, could I just use the muratic acid with water, or is there something else in the Kreem kit? |
Muriatic acid works ok but will start to rust immediately. Wash well with
water, then do a couple of quick rinses with acetone. Oustide. Away from
flames.
Best is phosphoric acid--what Kreem uses, i think--leaves a pretty nice
etched surface. Avvailable at farm stores as "milk stone remover".
