Well I'd put the connections outside the fender so they don't get covered in
crap from the rear wheel. You can hide them in rear light mounting.

I'd also run the wires inside some sleeving for extra protection.

Methinks that the PO has done a bit o' kludging' with the wiring at the
rear tail light on my '72 Eldo. There is a small bit of speaker wire
spliced onto the wires from inside the rear fender for the tail light
and turn signal. And these connections are outside of the rear tail
light housing.

I'm going to replace the all the rear tail light wire with some real
auto wire this spring but where should I put the connections? Do they
belong inside or outside the housing?
