Hi - two things to know in this circumstance described after fushing the tank
out with water and removing debris and letting it dry - the etching part of
the kreem treatment will take out a lot of the rust - do this part of the
process slowly , and oatiently and you will be rewarded - I usually do it
more them once - and let it sit in the tank - here it is important to adjust
the pposition of the tank so the etching component gets al the inside
the other thing to know - there is also a masking compound avaible from kreem
for the outside of the tank to protect it - if you have sifficulty finding
any of these I can get then for you
