Miguel,
It was highly stressed to me that I use new rod bolts and nuts with the
thought that the bolts and nuts had already been stressed. I did it...and
paid the price. I kind of think that I could have gone with the old ones but
I bowed to an "expert's" opinion.
What do you think Mark? If Mark says go with new ones....I would then.
As far as the lock plates around the engine....use the old ones.
Regards to my fellow Rare Bird owner :-)
Ian

Subject: Con Rod Nuts
Howdy All Can I reuse the original connecting rod nuts and lock tabs when I put the rods on the crank? What about the lock plates that abound on the engine? Yes? no? I heard each nut cost about $12 ea. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Miguel 69 Ambo 84 SPNT |
