Ian wrote, Maybe these things have mystical powers :-) I think part of the reason I'm so attracted to Loopframe Guzzis is the direct connection to Guzzis illustrious past. The era after Carlo Guzzis death bought a lot of change. Most of it was for the better but not all. When I see a Loopframe Guzzi, I see the work of Todero, Carcano and Cantoni and realize (in my eyes) that it will never again be matched for elegance of design. This is not to say that Lino Tonti isn't a great designer as well. But he doesn't have the same connection with Guzzis era of racing (if not commercial) success. If you compare a Loopframe with the models that immediately followed it, there is no doubt that the Loops were built to a higher standard of quality. Sure they had their faults, but not the sort of "cheesiness" that afflicted most of the DeTomaso era. This list is a testament to the "mystical" powers of the Loopframe. Here we are a diverse group of owners, sharing a common belief and spreading the word to anyone who will listen. It sounds a lot like how many religions get started! :-) Charlie (deacon in the church of Loopframe) - |
