While putting the cylinders back together this weekend on the Eldo, I
found myself inspecting the heel 'n toe shifter mechanism. I was
wondering about is the slop in the linkage mechanism (I did find a loose
clamp bolt but tightening it up didn't reduce the play). I have about
.5" (12.7 mm) of play out at the end of the shifter arm. I noticed that
most of it comes from the connection of the vertical linkage to the
short arm off the shaft from the tranny. Is this slop typical?
