Hi Ian,
Well from working on cars it is best to do what I'll call a reverse
torqueing serquence, if you just pull the bolts one at a time you could warp
the head, especially with it being aluminum.
Oh good call on the slides I may do that first as they are easier to change,
and yes the carbs will go on either side as I have swapped them before and
yes definetly hard to adjust probably do a ball park setting and see how it
goes.

Hi All,
While we are on the subject....
When retorquing the heads how far do you back off the nuts ? I know that
there is a sequence for tightening but how about loosening?
For what its worth. After rebuilding my 70 Ambo...I have run it close to
miles. I didn't go through a retorquing procedure but I have beenmeasuring
the rocker clearances very often with no change. Yes I did use newgaskets.
Did I do a bad thing? There aren't any oil leaks and the engine has been
consistent through the time.
I will re torque before riding season this spring but I am curious as to
people's thoughts.
