Hi Chris & All,
I remember a tip involving sodium silicate for cast aluminum bits, but I don't
remember one for the polished pieces. I now polish all my Guzzi bits with a
Harbor Freight 3/4 h.p. buffing motor with 8" wheels. I would have liked to have
bought a Baldor or other domestically produced brand, but I can't afford $300 +.
My H-F unit cost $68.99 and another $19.99 got me a stand as well. If you've got
a spare electric motor you can buy an arbor adapter from Eastwood to mount
buffing wheels to it. Mount it to a table or work bench, buy some buffing wheels
and compound, and you're ready to go for under $50. Either way beats polishing
all those pieces by hand!

Hey guys!
I remember reading either here or in my MGNOC newsletter about an old harley
rider trick to keep polished aluminum looking good. Some sort of chemical
that can be obtained from a chemical supply or pharmacist.
Put it on and bake for a bit in the oven. Does anyone remember what the
chemical is and exactly how its used? Has anyone ever used this method?
Did it work good?
Thanksa bunch!
