The noise I described earlier appears at not so much at a certain speed but
at a high RPM range. 4-5000 rpm in any gear, also I noticed when I left
off the gas to shift at 40000 rpm there is a loud metal slap sound also.
But like I said before, when I am running down the road at 4-5000 rpm and
as soon as I give it some juice the noise goes away until I level off the
speed/rpm then it comes back. Is it possible I could have a worn front cam
bushing ? If the motor is running at a level RPM could the cam be jumping
around transmitting the noise up into the valve train and when the engine
is under a load (acceleration) the cam smoothes out. Kind of like a loose
timing chain will make noise when running at a level rpm but when under
acceleration the centrifugal force will smooth the chain out not causing it
to slap the casing. Maybe I am thinking to hard.
