Hi Brad,
Best bet for a replacement coil is a Bosch "Blue" coil. They are epoxy
filled and resist vibration much better than what you will get at the
local auto parts store. I found that out the hard way - put a new
"Echlin" coil on the Ambo only to have it die on a ride with a bunch of
'Wingers two months later. The Bosch has been on for nearly two years
now with no problems. One should be available at a good foreign auto
parts store, fits '70 VW Beetle. Probably much cheaper from advertisers
in "Hot VWs" magazine. Looking in an old issue (Sept.'99) I found one
advertised for $22.95 at Barrett Enterprises (626) 967-5171,

I've never bought from these folks, just using them as a place to start
if you can't find one locally. Hope this helps.

Charlie
