Built my first bike when I was 12. (8 hp cast iron Kohler engine, =
bicycle frame, Honda 90 rearend) Police inherited it! =20
Saw a picture of a Guzzi Eldo when I was 13. Told my Mom, if I was ever =
to own anything besides a HD, it would be one of these Guzzi's. =
(Northside Inner-city child)
Have owned Knuckleheads, Panheads, Sportsters. (Still have one of the =
Sportsters)
Owned a 74 V7 Sport, and English bikes too.=20
After 10 years of searching, I found our Eldo in a barn in St. Cloud, MN =
in 1980. Owned by a veterenarian, covered with a sheet, unridden in 5 =
years, 9,000 miles, 74 LAPD, stock-disk brake front end, Eng.VIN # shows =
exactly: /P*061905* $1,450.00. Will continue to have an intimate =
relationship with this machine until the day I die. Internally tatooed =
to me, I have become at one with this machine. It has become a sort of =
spiritual thing.
So, go easy on the Harley riders, folks! Many a one of the HD riders, =
on the way to and from Sturgis, while riding my Guzzi, have come up to =
me and said: "Boy, if I was ever to own anything but a Harley Davidson, =
it would be one of these!" Guzzi, that is! The HD riders are all =
semi-converted, they just don't know it yet! This is our perspective.
Have a great weekend!
Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to!
