Hi Steve,
It's your coil. A sure sign is that all the electrics work fine except for
no spark.
I have heard that as the coil gets hot it will fail and after cooling it
will work again. I had a failure on my Ambo last year very similar to yours.
The good news is that replacing the coil is a simple fix. Go to the local
auto store and get a coil for a 69 VW Beetle. That one will work fine.
I also have a part number for a Bosch coil:
92200 81083
K12V
08
(0221119027)
I'm not sure what all the numbers mean but it should help getting you the
right one.
Good luck.....we'll see you at the rally.....Ian
Hi, Since I'm going to be out of town for the week before the National I |
I'd fire the trusty Eldo up and take it for a quick spin. Starts fine, I |
it for about 1 minute with the choke on, then take it out. I make it about 1/4 mile just fine and then the engine just dies. Still have lights, and |
starter turns the engine over just fine. No spark whatsoever when I get |
and check it. All ideas appreciated. I'm not very good with electrical stuff. thanks in advance, Steve |
