I remember reading or hearing a while back that on loop frame, drum
brake front forks you are supposed to liberally coat the fork springs
with a thick grease prior to installation. Is this an old wive's tale
or is it recommended and necessary?
As I remember, the reasoning I heard was that it kept the springs from
being noisy. Is that correct? Any feedback would be appreciated.
